Adding video to channels (Wtf) - requested by legacy0100.
solecistsays...well, that was amazing.
SDGundamXsays...I suppose this is funny if your only exposure to Japanese people is through movies like the Karate Kid. This guy's fake accent is pretty terrible--and no Japanese person would pronounce "wa-sa-bi" wrong since it's a native Japanese-language word.
I don't find it offensive or anything, just pretty terrible.

I don't know, I think he may be Japanese....

hpqpsays...I think he is engaging in a little witty wordplay:

SDGundamXsays...@bareboards2 His profile says he was indeed born in Tokyo and lived here through college. I think he may be hamming up his English accent for the video though (can't be sure... I can't find any other vids of him speaking English on his profile page). That's what threw me when watching this vid--his accent made him sound like he was pretending to be Japanese.
@hpqp Well played. I still don't get it though. Any native-born Japanese person should know the difference between the two. And most non-Japanese speaking folk (who don't work in the field of design) won't have any clue what wabi-sabi is.
Judging from the comments on YouTube it was pretty hit or miss for most people. Some non-Japanese speaking people assumed he was making fun of foreigners who can't pronounce wasabi correctly. Daisuke himself posted a comment (in Japanese) saying he believes 50 in 1 non-Japanese people will think this video is serious. Most of the Japanese commenters think it was funny though.
