I found some of these really funny.
"If you watch Raging Bull backwards, it's about a fat comedian who becomes a boxing champion and the more he beats his wife and brother, the more they like him." "If you watch The Big Lebowski backwards, The Dude finally gets his rug back." "If you watch The Shining backwards, it's about a murderer who is convinced by ghosts to give up the drink and settle down for a nice vacation with his family." "If you watch 300 backwards, King Leonidas helps the messenger out of the well with his foot and tells him 'SPARTA IS THIS!'" "If you watch Thelma And Louise backwards, it's about two women with a flying car who slowly realise their place is in the kitchen." via. http://www.virginmedia.com/movies/movieextras/top10s/backwards-movies.php Once again, I forgot that it was my favorite time of year; which is the way I like it.
The winners of the Bulwer-Lytton and Lyttle-Lytton contests were announced again last month. This really is something I look forward to all year long. Explanation from Wikipedia: "The Bulwer-Lytton Fiction Contest (BLFC) is a tongue-in-cheek contest that takes place annually and is sponsored by the English Department of San José State University in San Jose, California. Entrants are invited "to compose the opening sentence to the worst of all possible novels" — that is, deliberately bad. A prize of US$250 is awarded." If you haven't seen these but like a good, obscure, and funny read, check them out. http://www.bulwer-lytton.com/2009.htm or go here to read up first http://www.bulwer-lytton.com This is the Lyttle: http://adamcadre.ac/lyttle.html Call me crazy/disturbed but I like these so much that I'm not going to read them now. I'll actually print them off and wait until tonight when I can find a nice solitary spot to have a cup of coffee and a cigarette to read them. It looks like it's going to be the perfect "dark and stormy night" here too. Don't know if any of you have run across this fun anomaly.
Here's some light humor for ya - if you click on "Members" then click on any of the page numbers, say, 2, 3, 4. It doesn't matter. Then you can pretty much type anything after that and it will be recognized as the new page you're looking at. For example: http://www.videosift.com/topusers?pg=8brycewi19rocksthesift or http://www.videosift.com/topusers?pg=8yes,brycewi19isagreathumanbeing or even http://www.videosift.com/topusers?pg=8allhailthehypnotoad Go ahead, have fun with it. Until its novelty wears off after a few minutes. You better brace yourselves, because if this is the truth - and I'm inclined to think so -, it is equally hilarious and agitating.
The Dutch anti-piracy outfit BREIN is pushing a more than questionable trial against TPB in Dutch courts and now appears to have forged evidence to link the blokes of TPB to the company officially owning TPB. Brokep aka Peter Sunde blogged about todays hearing at the Dutch court and presents rather convincing arguments that almost inescapably indicate forgery by BREIN. Excerpt: And the question is, why would Experian make a false credit report? A company that does one thing for a living, with hundred of employees all over the world, give out trustworthy credit reports. They would of course not risk it to help a small antipiracy agency out in their high profile political game! And as you all can clearly see from the overwhelming evidence, the credit report is fake. Backed up by evidence from the lawyers of Mossack Fonseca & Co. Backed up by the government of Seychelles, times two – First by their company registry. And I actually called and asked if Fredrik was a citizen of their country. The answer was, as expected, Neij. He’s not. Source: brokep's blog Some requests to those who post content from Comedy Central - especially 'popular' clips like those featured on The Daily Show & The Colbert Report:
1) Comedy Central is *blocked. Until vids submitted from Comedy Central are automatically tagged with the *blocked invocation, please take the 0.5 seconds and do it yourself. 2) Please post the original date of broadcast in the description. This makes it easier for Canucks to search and find content for The Daily Show (http://watch.thecomedynetwork.ca/the-daily-show-with-jon-stewart/full-episodes) or The Colbert Report (http://watch.thecomedynetwork.ca/the-colbert-report/full-episodes/) 3) If a fellow Canadian does seek out and watch the clip in question, take an additional 3 seconds and post the link in a comment so others can bask in its visual glory. Thanks =) Digg shares an Unreality article on ten fan-made trailers, with their embedded YouTube videos to video game movies -- "It's pretty obvious that pretty much every movie that has ever been based on a video game has been utter crap. When the best of the genre are Silent Hill and the Resident Evil series, you know you're in trouble. Quite simply, movie producers and directors don't 'get' the games they turn into movies, and if they do, those games should have never been adapted into movies to begin with. Video game fans, it seems, have a much better idea about what the genre should be -- if it's bad arse, make it bad arse, and if it's silly, well, make it silly. After the jump, take a look at the work of said fans, and enjoy ten awesome trailers to fan-made video game movies..."
It's only Moon that made me realise how cool this guy is. Here he is recounting a Tim Allen joke on the set of Gentlemen Broncos. I would sift this but having found it on aol the embed code threw up a dupe to another older, different and dead video. Odd. Anyway, felt naughty so i uploaded it to my YouTube account.
Feel free to sift. I gots 8 power point burning a hole in my digital pocket. One promote each for the first 8 jokes that I can take away with me and use IRL at a later date.
If it doesn't make me laugh, try again. If I actually chuckle, laugh out loud, or even crack a smile, I'll give you a promote. Just wanted to share this.

Japan has a well-earned reputation for daft, brilliant and disturbingly odd TV game commercials, but it took a long (sometimes painful) evolution along a course signposted by geeky TV celebs in bad jumpers during the 1980s and PlayStation-sophistication in the 1990s, for that rep to be won and maintained.
Back at the end of the 1970s, Japanese gamecorps started trying to convince their public that games were not something to be afraid of; that they were a perfectly reasonable, legitimate form of entertainment, like shogi or fishing. Once the Famicom Era kicked off, those same softcos dropped their polite, civilised image and began to go berserk all over Japan's telly screens with "CMs" (as the Japanese refer to "adverts" or "commercials") that were powerful enough to rip a viewer's mind open and sew it back together within the space of 15 seconds, discreetly lodging a MUST SHOP! impulse somewhere in the frontal lobe before the skit was over. The evolution was televised, so join us as we trace its path from 1979 to 2009..." I know some of these were posted, but I didn't know there were SO many!!
http://www.youtube.com/user/attentionn00b#grid/uploads Go submit the good ones NOW! Mister Bek has proven himself to be an omic genius. His ability to ast aside rucial letters in words proves to ater to everyone's sense of humour. So in reognition of his new style of omedy let's join in the fun and omit the letter " " this week in all of our orrespondence and omments.
How many times have you said or seen this posted here on VS? I was just watching deputydog's posting of Stewart Francis, and it occurred to me to write up a SiftTalk post proposing just that. Or would that defeat the whole idea of the Sift? If you made it valuable, like costing 2 power points or more, do you think the results would skew that badly? Just an idea and worth a little debate for the heck of it. What say you?
