i think the capslock command must be something else, overall it was actually relatively impressive. He just got flustered and made it worse.

I don't know why that is so funny, but I could watch that all day. How hard is this..... "Press Capital I" "Press Capital N" "Press Capital F" "Press Capital O"

Also, dude could just backspace or "delete word" maybe even delete line.
I'm willing to bet that Capslock, press i press n press f press o ... also works. Who would program perl by voice recognition. I mean yeah if you were disabled...

My favorite is the internet exploring video. Where the guy keeps trying "n" but sounds like "m" and he is too dumb to say "type no" "backspace".

Would be interesting if he actually uses the right keywords. The right ones work pretty well, I would say, although quality of recognition depends on the microphone you use.

I really hope he is just trying to make a funny video of how "apparently" hard it is to use this software because if he is not, than he is just a complete idiot due to the following reasons...

1. If you are using Voice Activated Software, Dont say things you dont intend to be typed.
2. If saying "Capslock" doesnt work the first time why the hell would it work 42 times later!?
3. Type out things that are more complex than just regular words such as HTML or C++ or whatever.
4.He sounds like Napoleon Dynamite, GOSH!

Maybe Apple has a program out that does speech synthesis AND doesn't get confused by morons?

I can't tell if this presumably showing how bad this speech recognition is (note: It's great), or how dumb this guy is for saying "Thank you" like 30 times into the microphone, then still wondering why it's typing what he's saying.

"HRRRR!!!! I'm so frustrated with how retarded I am!!! GRRRARRR!"

edit note: P.S.-It's HILARIOUS to watch this guy screwup over and over.

Pretty awful idea to write computer code or script with voice recognition, unless the voice recognition software is attuned to the context.

Gates has always been crazy about voice recognition stuff, but its a difficult way to interface, even between people; requires a lot of contextual correction on the part of the listener.

Yeah, the stupidity of saying thank you to the voice rec software was epic - he knows he should say "stop listening" but he didn't.

I met up with some MBAs a few years ago - I thought their new company wanted to advertise in my newspaper. They thought they were going to get free publicity in my newspaper.

That was miscommunication #1!

Miscommunications #2 through #N were on sight as they showed of the voice rec software they were selling.

It was a really weird experience, I must say.

"So your sales office... is in your condo? I get home offices, but I'd expect them to be in an actual *house*"....

Funny and awkward story, I must say. Like this guy's voice rec experience!

I'd say its the user at fault not the voice recognition. The voice recognition is actually quite good in vista. Not to mention trying to write code with voice recognition is just asking for trouble.

This guy is almost as annoying as the upgrade guy from earlier this week. His slightly arrogant tone, and lack of patience coupled with his obvious stupidity(how many times does he say thank you?), makes me cringe. He should just box up his system and send it back. Reminds me of the old Apple IIe tech support call. "What does an e look like?"

I think it's hilarious. The guy was acting like an average user trying to use this, so don't blame him.

There's actually some pretty good voice recognition software out there, I think Dragon is the better one. But this video here is just comedy gold.
